HOW WE DO IT: OUR PROCESS

Goods arrive at Episode

Our experienced employees conduct the first quality and style check

If necessary, our atelier repairs the product

Then, the products are ready to wash

The washing is done by sophisticated machines with a green label

The heating and drying is done with steam, which we generate with electric boilers, powered by our own solar panels

All clothes are washed

and all shoes are washed as well

After washing, our final quality check is performed

The clothes are labelled, security-tagged, and packaged for transport to the stores

Upon arrival in the shops, the clothes are presented to the customer

We aim to provide the customer with the possibility of making a sustainable choice

At Episode we prioritise the interest of our customers. It is therefore that we strive to maintain the best quality at the best price. In order to prevent the trade in our clothing, our employees are specifically instructed to refuse the transaction in case of suspicion of possible resale.
When vintage dealers pick out our best pieces, and re-sell these at a higher price, customers suffer. They are forced to pay an unfair price online or in other shops, instead of paying our honest prices.
Therefore, our policy states that we cannot sell more than two items of the same product, and when we suspect someone is buying our clothes with the intention of re-selling them, we will refuse the purchase.

All purchases are final

No refunds
Our return policy does not allow refunds on our used clothing. We do not exchange our articles after transaction, nor do we refund the return with a voucher.
No guarantees
All our products are professionally washed, cleaned and repaired. Due to the delicate nature of some of our products, such as hand-painted silk kimono’s, washing can sometimes only be done by dry cleaning. After transaction, Episode is not responsible for damage due to washing or wearing of the items. Therefore all purchases are final. Please shop with careful notice of the products.
Articles from our own atelier
Regarding the articles from our own atelier, we accept returns provided the following conditions are met:

  • The article comes from our own atelier. These articles are recognised by an Episode label sewn inside.
  • The return takes place within 8 days after purchase.
  • The item must be returned to the shop it was bought at.
  • The original receipt is shown at the counter.
  • The item must be unused and unworn and in the same condition as purchased.

We do not refund in cash, only in an Episode gift voucher.

Latest developments

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

UPDATE 24-03-2020 

EPISODE has decided to close all stores as of March 24th  until further notice.

The health and safety of our customers and employees are top priority. We also remain alert to the measures and advice taken by th WHO and the Government.

NEW: ONLINE GIFT CARDS

In addition to our hard-copy gift cards available in the shops, you can now buy online gift vouchers on our website. You’ll receive an email with the gift voucher, available to use in all Episode stores. Enjoy responsibility. 

Episode Utrecht renovated

During the first week of February, Episode has worked tirelessly to renovate our Episode Utrecht store.

The store now has an updated and fresh look, with an additional checkout register added on our basement-level to enhance shopper experience. The fitting rooms have been moved to our top floor, to create more space for our second hand clothing on the main floor, and new lighting has been placed throughout the store. These are just some examples of the updates and improvements put in place during the renovations. To experience all renovations done, come and visit our store in Utrecht.

Episode Paris closed on Sundays

Unfortunately, labour restrictions do not allow our costumers in Paris to work on a better environment on Sundays. From January 2020 onwards, our Paris shop is ordered by court to close on Sundays.

However, this does not apply to our shops in Denmark, The Netherlands and Belgium. There you can still be responsible on Sundays.
